{"id":289,"date":"2008-02-28T21:55:13","date_gmt":"2008-02-28T18:55:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.void.gr\/kargig\/blog\/?p=289"},"modified":"2008-06-06T01:14:59","modified_gmt":"2008-06-05T22:14:59","slug":"iloog-802-is-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.void.gr\/kargig\/blog\/2008\/02\/28\/iloog-802-is-out\/","title":{"rendered":"iloog-8.02 is out!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new version of <a href=\"http:\/\/ilug.gr\/iloog\/\">iloog<\/a> (iloog-8.02) is finally ready after 4 months since our last release (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.void.gr\/kargig\/blog\/2007\/10\/31\/iloog-710-is-out\/\">iloog-7.10<\/a>).  This new version does not bring tons of new features but it&#8217;s much more polished and robust than the previous one and has quite a few bugs squashed.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the changes include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Patched 2.6.22 kernel against the recent local root exploit<\/li>\n<li>QT4 support! QT programmers will certainly like this new addition<\/li>\n<li>Removed some bloated programs and replaced them with some lighter ones (eg graveman instead of K3B)<\/li>\n<li>Added another IDE, glade!<\/li>\n<li>Added Pascal compiler (gpc)<\/li>\n<li>Support for new revision control software like git and mercurial<\/li>\n<li>Added support for via and sis graphics drivers in Xorg<\/li>\n<li>Some iloog tools got a dialog interface<\/li>\n<li>Added some programs by greek developers like:  <a href=\"http:\/\/indywiki.sourceforge.net\/\">indywiki<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/jipfire.ilug.gr\/\">jIPFire<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/rainbow.cs.unipi.gr\/projects\/pluto\">pluto<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/pysmssend.sourceforge.net\/\">pysmssend<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.qt-apps.org\/content\/show.php\/QGRUBEditor?content=60391\">QGRUBEditor<\/a><\/li>\n<li>New Tango icons for the desktop<\/li>\n<li>Some minor changes to Fluxbox&#8217;s menu and theme<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of course there are also the usual updates to all the included programs to their most recent stable versions plus the addition of more than 50 new packages.<br \/>\nWe&#8217;ve also written down some crude information on iloog&#8217;s wiki about the process of &#8220;installing&#8221; iloog to a hard disk. The process is _NOT_ automatic and whoever tries it must be very careful before executing anything.
